Let me start with a heart-felt congratulations to our newest Black Belts, Steve Papadapoulos and Shaun Denhoff. Shaun was my first student ever so it is especially an honor to have seen him grow all the way through the ranks to achieve this incredible goal, both for him and myself.

I would also like to congratulate Hanny Habib who did a great job testing in to 1st Degree Brown belt. 

Not only did these three do a great job on their tests, but they did so in front of our Grandmaster! I am so incredibly proud of you all.

 

On that note, Grandmaster Sin's visit went very well. He taught out the First Road to Golden Mountain Leopard. This is a really fun form and I hope all of you that took this seminar with me are ready to practice. I will have the DVD's for you as soon as I can. I had some trouble locating one to make copies of. I apologize for this inconvenience.  

 

Be here on Saturday, February 2nd to compete in our first ever Winter Festival. All students of any age are welcome. We will have competitions in both Forms and Point Sparring. Awards given to the top 3 competitors in each category.

Day: Saturday

Date: February 2nd

Time: 10:00am

Cost: $15 if you pay by January 30th, $20 the day of.

 

I will have more information regarding the divisions soon. Basically, Kids, white - green, and brown and above.

I have decided to move the Open House to a later date. I would like to make sure we have enough time to properly promote it. I will keep you posted on the new date.

 

Master Joes Spring Festival is right around the corner. There is a handful of us that will be going. If you would like more information, please visit Master Schaefer's website at www.austinkungfu.com.

If you are planning on going, why not get a few private lessons in to hone your kata or sparring. That is the best way to get ready for the competition. Cost is only $40 per hour or you may pre-pay for 5 at $150.
